Ken Silva

I talked to Pastor Ken on the phone today. Called up his church and he answered. We chatted for about half-an-hour and agreed to hang on to each other's phone numbers. Of course, we disagreed on some things, but agreed that friendship is possible and desirous. He seemed like a good guy, and I got to hear part of his story, which was quite interesting.

I'm hobbling around like a drunkard with my knee in bandages. The surgery was a success.

Today is the day that the Edina Police Chaplains have a chili feed for the cops. The Rabbi's is usually the hottest chili, but mine beat his this year.

Life is good.

Tony...

Glad to hear you're connecting with the Slice people.

Good to hear that you're recovering from the surgery.

And..can we get some of that chili at the philosophical conversation???

Peace.

Tony,

I too see Ken as a good guy... over zealous a bit, but I do admire that he is trying to do something...

I don't care if he becomes "emergent friendly" = ) yet I do hope that he will take time to meet the actual people he has written against... mostly to hear their story... as well as us hear his.

also, Hi Ken, hope all is well with you...

Hope we all can work for the Kingdom together...

blessings,
iggy

Tony and Ken, great to see a dialog and the spirit it reflects.

ken's a good man with a good heart. obviously we disagree on things, but he is willing to talk and think on things. he may be a little extreme on issues - towards all flavors of evangelicalism - but he is a real person that you can chat with, and he does his research so that should make him a worthy Nemesis.

tony, glad you guys chatted on the phone.

Count me as one who thinks you are to be commended for being nice to Ken, but it will get you NOTHING. As Ken says today in another Apprising Ministies Missive, Tony is nothing more than a New Ager, and make no mistake about it, such people do the work of the Devil.

Ken has no common ground with the Emgerging Church (or most other Christians) He is a right wing fundamentalists who believes most of Christianity is walking in some form of heresy or error.

Any form of dialog requires a common point of reference. It is hard to find that reference point when he so quickly labels most everything in Modern Christianity false or a work of Satan.

I commend you for trying, but at the end of the day you are still doing to be labeled a devil serving new ager.

A fellow devil serving new ager,
Bruce

Ken Silva is a blow-hard idiot that does nothing but try to divide the christian community.

Jonathan,

Are you sure that's a good emerging church "Christian" witness?

Ken Silva is Christian pastor which is why he won't reject an opportunity to speak in peace, meekness of heart, and with prayerful supplication in hope the Lord might open the eyes of those who oppose themselves and His eternal Word.

With all due respect Coram, I know of a few people who can testify otherwise.

Ken Silva has had some good things to say, but to my understandinghe has also cuased unecessary division(like many other pastors, both emergent and reformed)

Settle down fellows ... we are to follow the direction of scripture:

to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all people. For we ourselves were once foolish ... Titus 3:2-8

If you honestly think a brother is stirring up dissention, causing division, then the scripture advises us to ignore them (see v10) ... this might allow making a defense to those who heard them but does *NOT* allow quarreling or nastiness (see v2-3).

May God bless each and every one of you and your ministries.

Dale
